Fundraising
Baby Comes Too is a self funding groups and we have a number of ways of raising money. Our day to day costs such as the hire of the room and refreshments are covered by the £1 charge per family. In addition, we welcome traders who sell child and family orientated products to set up in our buggy room, and we ask them to give us a 10% commission of their takings. We have a photographer who comes to the group twice a year and she also gives the Group a percentage of the proceeeds of her sales. Each Christmas we hold a raffle with great prizes to raise funds. In 2010 we raised over £120.00!
As another way of generating funds for the group, and allowing parents and carers an easy way to sell their unwanted toys, clothes and baby equipment, we have decided that each week we will allow one carer to set up a stall in the buggy room. In exchange for a £5 donation to the group, you they can set up one or two tables to display their goods and see if there are any takers! They will also have a car parking space at the rear of the building to make unloading easier! We have decided to have just one person per week because of space limitations, and also not to run this when we have professional traders. If you would like to book a date in the diary, please see Renée. Our first sellers made about £35. Toys, books and new clothes with tags sell best.
In 2009 and in 2010 we were fortunate enough to receive grants from Keynsham Town Council which we used to buy a new wooden kitchen for our home corner and new dressing up clothes and play food.
We use our funds to buy new toys and craft materials for the group.
