Welcome Back
Welcome back to Baby Comes Too! We hope that you all had a lovely half term break and are gearing up for the excitement of Christmas!
Photographer – 11th November
Our current photographer, Lorraine Nevill will be here on 11th November to take photos of your little cherubs! Lorraine is a local one woman band who specialises in pre-schools and weddings and has been in business for 25 years. She takes lots of pictures of your children and then you take home the actual prints to choose from. You pay for the ones you want, and bring back the ones you don’t want. All photographs are 7 x 5 inches. If you buy 1 to 3 photographs, they cost £5 each, and if you buy 4 or more photographs, they cost £4 each. Reprints are £6 each, and 10 x 8 inch enlargements are £12 each. If you spend £40 or more, you can pay £5 for a CD of all your prints. Baby Comes Too will get 10% commission of all sales which helps to fund exciting events like the annual trip to Blaise Castle.
Christmas
Vanessa and Jackie are planning some lovely Christmas craft ideas for the run up to Christmas, and one Friday we’ll be asking your little ones to help us make Christmas cards for all the kind-hearted tea ladies who volunteer to serve us all tea and coffee each Friday.
Children’s Christmas Party – 16th December
The Children’s Christmas party will take place on 16th December – it will start a little bit later than normal playgroup and we will give you exact timings nearer the time. The ladies from Noah’s Ark will be coming to read the children a story, sing some festive songs and play pass the parcel. After some party food, a special visitor will arrive to bring the children a present. Please remember to bring a wrapped and clearly labelled present for your child, and some party food. There will be a list on the front desk so you can sign up for something you’d like to bring.
Parents' and Carers' Christmas Meal – 16th December
After great meals at Pomegranate over the last few years, we have booked again for Friday 16th December. A chance to let your hair down and get to know other carers without a small child hanging on to your leg! There are only 14 places available so it’s first come first served I’m afraid. Full details of the menu, cost and deposit will be on a separate sheet on the reception desk.
Waiting List
After the summer exodus of children leaving for school and pre-school, we were able to reduce our waiting list down to 8 families. Please let one of the committee know if you are not able to come for any reason and we can mark you as absent. If you don’t come for 4 weeks in a row without letting us know why, then we will give your place to one of the families on the waiting list.
Committee
We are always very happy to welcome anyone along to our committee meetings if you just want to come once or if you’d like to become a member of the committee. Our next meeting is at The Ship on Wednesday 16th November. Please let any one of us know if you’d like to come along!
New Website
Many thanks to Sophie Brimacombe’s daddy, who is sorting out the new website so that it is user friendly and full of information again! Within a couple of weeks, it should be up and running and you will be able to check dates and information there.
Do you want to sell your old toys, clothes etc?
As a way of generating funds for the group, and allowing you an easy way to sell your unwanted toys, clothes and baby equipment, we have decided that each week we will allow one carer to set up a stall in the buggy room. In exchange for a £5 donation to the group, you can set up one or two tables to display your goods and see if there are any takers! You will also have a car parking space at the rear of the building to make unloading easier! We have decided to have just one person per week because of space limitations, and also not to run this when we have outside visitors. If you would like to book a date in the diary, please see Renée. Jackie and Renée were our first seller and both made about £35. Toys, books and new clothes with tags sell best.
If you have any comments or suggestions for the group please speak to one of us, we are always happy to hear from you!
